SUNRISE Study

The primary aim of the Sunrise Study is to determine the proportion of 3-to 4-year-old children who meet the World Health Organization (WHO) Global 24-hour Movement Guidelines for the Early Years. Secondary aims include studying the associations between movement behaviours (physical activity, sedentary and screen time, and sleep) and a variety of developmental areas (e.g., cognition, motor competence) and sociodemographic factors (e.g., urbanicity, gender, socioeconomic status). The SUNRISE project was conducted with >1,000 preschoolers from 5 Canadian provinces, as well as 63 other countries worldwide!
