Evaluating Playgrounds for Inclusion

Children with disabilities may be unable engage playground spaces due to barriers which exacerbate exclusion. Led by the Child Health and Physical Activity Lab, researchers from Western University, the University of Toronto and the University of Alberta conducted a scoping review of tools to evaluate existing playgrounds for the inclusion of children with disabilities. We hope the results of this review will support community stakeholders to evaluate their own playgrounds to support the physical activity of all children.
