Dr. Hannah Coyle-Asbil

Dr. Hannah Coyle-Asbil is a Post-Doctoral Associate in the Child Health and Physical Activity Lab. She completed her BSc ('19) in Biomedical Science and MSc ('21) in Human Health and Nutritional Sciences at the University of Guelph. Hannah then pursued a Cotutelle PhD, funded by NSERC, Mitacs, Erasmus, and OGS, earning a PhD in Human Health and Nutritional Sciences from the University of Guelph and a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Bremen. Her doctoral research focused on understanding preschool children’s free-living movement behaviors. Using wearable sensors such as accelerometers and gyroscopes, Hannah developed machine learning models to capture and analyze these behaviors with greater accuracy. In her postdoctoral role, she helps oversee the TEACH+Policy project. Outside of the lab, Hannah enjoys running, cycling, swimming, and hiking with her Bernese Mountain Dog, Annie!
