Emily Sussex
Research Volunteer

Emily Sussex is a fourth-year student at Western University pursuing a Bachelor of Arts with a Major in Criminology. She has extensive experience working with children in active settings, providing her with a strong foundation in children’s health and physical activity. Through her criminology studies, Emily has developed advanced skills in analysis and academic writing, which she applies to support the research of the Child Health and Physical Activity Lab. Her research interests lie at the intersection of children’s health, policy, and law, and she is eager to further explore how these fields connect. As an undergraduate summer research intern in the summer of 2025, Emily assisted with numerous lab projects and was the lead author on an article soon to be published in The Conversation. Outside of her academic and research work, Emily enjoys snowboarding and playing intramural sports, including flag football, basketball, and volleyball.
